José Salomón Rondón Giménez (born September 16, 1989 in Caracas ) is a Venezuelan football player who has been under contract with Dalian Yifang since 2019 .
Career
In the club
Rondón began his career in his homeland with Aragua FC . On October 8, 2006, at the age of 17, he made his debut in the Primera División Venezolana . In the following two seasons he played a total of 58 games, scored 18 goals and won the Copa Venezuela in 2007 with his team.
For the 2008/09 season , the Venezuelan moved to the Spanish Segunda División at UD Las Palmas . Here Rondón made his breakthrough in the 2009/10 season with ten goals this season. As the youngest foreign goalscorer in the club's history, the then 20-year-old attracted the interest of some top division clubs after the end of the season.
Before the 2010/11 season , Rondón moved to Andalusia for Malaga FC . In his first year in the top Spanish league, he came in 30 missions on 14 hits.
Due to financial problems of FC Málaga , Rondón moved to Russia for Rubin Kazan for the 2012/13 season . During the 2013/14 season he was signed by Zenit Saint Petersburg . With the club he won the Russian championship in the 2014/15 season .
For the 2015/16 season Rondón moved to the Premier League at West Bromwich Albion .
He was loaned to Newcastle United in the 2018/19 season.
In July 2019, he moved to Dalian Yifang in the Chinese Super League for 18 million euros .
National team
Rondón took part in the 2009 U-20 World Cup in Egypt with the Venezuelan U-20 national team and scored four goals in three games. He made his senior national team debut in 2008.
