Salome Nyirarukundo (born December 20, 1997 in Kivumu Rutsiro ) is a Rwandan middle distance runner .

Athletic career

Salome Nyirarukundo gained her first international experience at the Junior African Championships 2015 in Addis Ababa , where she finished fourth in the 3000 meter run in 10: 02.83 minutes , as well as at the African Championships in Durban the following year in 31:45, 82 min over 10,000 meters. Then she was at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz in 15: 57.68 min 13th in the 5000 meter run . She took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro over 10,000 meters , where she finished 27th in 32: 07.80 minutes . In 2017 she qualified for the World Championships in London , where she finished 25th in 32: 45.95 minutes . In 2018 she took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time and finished eleventh there in 32: 13.74 minutes. In August she finished sixth at the African Championships in Asaba with a time of 33: 14.08 min.
