Salome von Berg

Salome von Berg-Schelklingen (* around 1099 in the Donaukreis , Württemberg; † July 27, 1144 ) was the daughter of Heinrich Graf zu Berg and Adelheid von Mochental, daughter of Margrave Diepold II of Vohburg . She was the second wife of Bolesław III. Wrymouth , Duke of Poland .

In the course of her marriage to Bolesław III in 1115. Wrymouth gave birth to a total of 14 children, of which four sons and six daughters survived adolescence:

  • Dobroniega Ludgarda (Dobronega, Lucardis; * 1128/1135; † 1160/1181), married about 1142 to Dietrich , Margrave of Lusatia;
  • Judith (* 1133; † 1175), married to Ladislaus II , King of Hungary and Otto I , Margrave of Brandenburg;
  • Agnes (* 1137; † after 1181), married to Mstislaw II , Grand Duke of the Kievan Rus;
  • Przybysława (Pribislawa; † after 1156), married to Ratibor I , Duke of Pomerania;
  • Daughter NN , married to Konrad , Count of Plötzkau, Margrave of the Nordmark.

After the death of her husband, Poland was divided among his sons. Salome received parts of his land from her stepson Władysław II the displaced , which she was allowed to administer until her death. In addition, she received the right to represent or support Heinrich in his government affairs as regent in Sandomir and Lublin . In 1141 Salome tries to promise her three-year-old daughter to the son of the Kiev Grand Duke Vsevolod II .
