The midfielder also spent the following season at Carpi and was signed by the first division club AC Perugia for the 1977/78 season . Bagni established himself in his first season in Serie A at Perugia and reached seventh place with the team. In the following season , when he scored eight goals in 28 league games, the club managed to qualify for the UEFA Cup as runner-up behind AC Milan . This meant the greatest success in the history of AC Perugia. The team was unbeaten in all 30 league games, but missed winning the championship due to the many draws. In the following participation in the UEFA Cup it was not possible to repeat the convincing performances in the league from the previous year.

The midfielder with Perugia survived the first round of the competition with a narrow win over Dinamo Zagreb , but in the second round the team failed with an aggregate result of 4-1 against the Greek representative Aris Thessaloniki and was eliminated from the competition early. Even in Serie A it was no longer possible to build on the earlier successes and after a placement in tenth place in the 1979/80 season , relegation to Serie B followed a year later as the penultimate of the top division . Bagni then left the club and signed with Inter Milan . His first season at Inter started successfully, he made 27 games and scored five goals, bringing him to fifth place at the end of the season. In addition, Coppa Italia succeeded in winning the national cup competition.

Also in the following two seasons with 3rd and 4th final placements were achieved, which again qualified for participation in an international cup competition. In the summer of 1984 Bagni signed with SSC Napoli , with which he won the Italian championship and the cup in the 1986/87 season . A year later he made another club change and joined the second division US Avellino . After a season in which Bagni was part of the regular squad, as throughout his career, he ended his active career at the age of 33.
