SamKochAvto or SamKoçAuto ( Russian : СамКочАвто ) is a joint venture agreed in May 1996 between the Uzbek OJSC UzAvtosanoat and the Turkish Koç Holding A.Ş. Buses, trucks and off-road vehicles were manufactured among them. The company's headquarters are in Samarkand .

The work had to start each year about 60 to 100 trucks brands UZotoyol and Ford assembled for the Uzbek domestic market. The units as so-called were Delivers CKD - kits .

Production started on March 19, 1999. The two bus models UzOtoyol М 23.9 and UzOtoyol М 24.9 as well as the trucks UzOtoyol 35.9 , UzOtoyol 65.9 and UzOtoyol 80.12 were available . In the following year the UzOtoyol М 29.12 coach was added. In 2001 we started our own production and only a few parts had to be obtained from outside companies. The UzOtoyol М 23.12 bus and the UzOtoyol 120.14 truck were the first real Uzbek commercial vehicles. In 2003 the last new bus model came onto the market for several years, the UzOtoyol М 50.12 .

Assembly of the Land Rover Freelander also began at the end of 2003 . To make this possible, UzAvtosanoat had to convert the plant, which cost 7.67 million US dollars . In order to keep costs down, part of the production line was also taken over by Koç Holding. In October 2005 the Škoda Octavia Tour was added. After the Japanese Isuzu Motors held eight percent of the shares in 2007, the agreement was seen as endangered. The planned sale of the Land Rover brand, which at that time belonged to the Ford Motor Company, created tension, so that both sides withdrew more and more from their contractual agreements. Isuzu, on the other hand, took advantage of the situation and bought more shares whenever the opportunity arose. In the meantime, the National Bank of Uzbekistan intervened in the event and initiated legal proceedings for the closure of the company. Isuzu continued to buy the shares until fifty percent was bought in February 1999. This prevented the closure.

Although the circumstances have changed, no agreement could be reached with the new participants. So the plant was finally handed over to the new MAN AUTO-Uzbekistan joint venture in November and only assumed the function of general importer for Isuzu. Since Koç Holding was no longer interested in the company, its name was simply deleted from the company name. Since then, the manufacturer has only operated as SamAuto Ltd., Co. , which is supposed to stand for Samarkand Automobile Factory ( Самаркандский Автомобильный Завод ).

Current models since 2007 are the Bus SamAuto N series (NP21, NP26 and NP37) and the Isuzu N series (NPR 66 LL, NPR 66 PL and NQR 71 PL). In 2008 the Isuzu F series (FTR 33H, FVR 23M, FVR 33G and FVR 23P) and Isuzu C / E series (CYZ 51 KLD, EXR 51 EL and EXZ 51 KL) followed. The latest model from the manufacturer is the SamAuto LE 60 bus presented in 2009 . So far, however, this only exists as a single piece and is expected to go into series production soon. In 2009 SamKochAvto manufactured 1,317 buses and 722 trucks.
