Sam Dominique Abouo (born December 26, 1973 in Abidjan ) is a former Ivorian football player on the position of midfielder .
Career
society
Abouo began his professional career in 1991 at the Ivorian top club ASEC Mimosas . Previously, he played in the club's youth department. After two years and two championship titles, the European club AS Monaco became aware of the midfielder and signed him for the 1993/94 season. Abouo did not succeed there. As a result, he transferred to Al-Nasr in Saudi Arabia the following year . With these he was able to win the Saudi Arabian football championship straight away . In the coming seasons, other titles such as the Saudi Federation Cup and the Gulf Club Champions Cup were added. But Abouo celebrated the most important triumph in 1998 with victory in the Asian Cup Winners Cup . In the final on April 12, 1998, Al-Nasr beat the Korean club Suwon Samsung Bluewings 1-0. Shortly afterwards, the team also secured the Asian Super Cup . After four years he moved back to Europe, where he signed with the Belgian club KSC Lokeren . Again, the central player failed to prevail. At the Turkish club Siirtspor Abouo then signed in 2000. He stayed with the promoted team for half a year, but then left the club during the winter break to join league rivals Beşiktaş Istanbul . At the Turkish top club Abouo was only a spectator and did not appear in the league. 2001/02 he went to Belgium for the second time, to the lower class team KFC Verbroedering Geel . After another year at KFCR Mol-Wezel , he finally ended his active career.
National team
Abouo completed a total of ten international matches for the Ivory Coast national team . In 1992 he was part of the squad that won the African Cup of Nations. The team prevailed in the final after defeating Ghana 0-0 with 11:10 on penalties. Abouo was also able to contribute a hit during the imposition. Before that, he completed the entire season of the game. Two years later he was again in the squad for the 1994 African Cup of Nations . Ivory Coast was eliminated in the semi-finals. Six years later, Abouo was also a participant in the 2000 Africa Championship .
