Sam Wardrop (born October 20, 1997 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish football player .

Career

society

Sam Wardrop played in Celtic's youth team until 2017 . In 2017, he led the Celtic U-20 team as captain in the final of the Scottish Youth Cup , which was won against the Rangers . In August 2017 Wardrop was loaned to the Scottish second division club FC Dumbarton . He made 22 appearances for the club in the 2017/18 season and scored a goal against Inverness Caledonian Thistle . In May 2018, the 20-year-old signed a two-year deal with Dundee United .

National team

Sam Wardrop played on the junior teams of the Scottish Football Association from 2012 to 2016 . He made his debut in the U15 against Switzerland . In his fourth game for the U16s in October 2012, he scored his first goal for Scotland as a defender against Wales . He then played for the U17 and U-19 national teams .
