Sam Winans

Samuel "Sam" George Winans (* 1952 ) is an American feature film / television composer .

His music can be found in television series / sitcoms such as Lizzie McGuire , Goofy & Max and Kids Incorporated , the cartoon Pound Puppies and the Legend of Big Paw (1988) or the science fiction series Afterworld .

Life

Sam Winans attended Pasadena City College in Pasadena . California . He began his musical career as a guitarist in various rock bands and then turned to other music genres, especially jazz . When looking for a good teacher, he chose Spud Murphy , with whom he studied for eight years and who eventually let Winans teach himself. Winans then attended other college courses and trained in recording studios. In 1983 he opened a recording studio in Santa Monica called Tempo Recording Inc. After that, he also devoted himself to writing music for film and television and moved his recording studio directly to Hollywood in 1988 . From 1993 to 1998 he ran the Winans Holding Co. in West Virginia and was Vice President there. Since 2012 he has also been running a recording studio at Tempo Recording Inc. in Harrison , Idaho .

He is married to Elizabeth J. Winans, nee Schuster.
