Samir Okumali ogly Mastijew ( Russian Самир Окумали оглы Мастиев ; born January 13, 1993 in Yekaterinburg ) is a Russian Nordic combined athlete .

Career

On January 7, 2012, he made his debut in the Nordic Combined Continental Cup . In the competition in Erzurum , Turkey , he finished 37th, which meant he could not collect any Continental Cup points. In the same year he took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Erzurum. In the Gunderson competition over the 10 kilometers, he finished 42nd place and was able to improve to 37th place. Together with Alexey Gubin , Yevgeny Klimov and Vyacheslav Barkov , he formed the Russian squadron, which took fifth place.

On January 11th, 2013 he finished in the top 30 of the Continental Cup for the first time. At the competition in Tchaikovsky he finished 28th after jumping from the largest ski jump of the Sneschinka ski jumping facility, and in cross-country skiing he was 22nd place improve. He took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2013 and competed in all three competitions. After he only finished 28th and 32nd in the two individual competitions, he started together with Dmitri Sharkow , Yevgeny Klimow and Timofei Borisow as the Russian relay in the team competition. The quartet was fourth to miss a medal.

Between December 11th and December 21st he took part in the Winter Universiade in Trentino . After he had finished 14th in the Gunderson competition and 16th in the mass start, he started together with Dmitri Sharkov, Yevgeny Klimov and Timofei Borisow in the relay competition. There they finished fourth and missed a medal. On January 4, 2014 he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup . At the World Cup in Tchaikovsky he finished 35th and a day later he finished 37th in the second competition.

On December 20, 2014, he competed in a team for the first time in the World Cup. Together with Vyacheslav Barkov , Ernest Jachin and Yevgeny Klimow , he took ninth place in the relay competition in Ramsau . Between January 24th and February 1st he took part in the Winter Universiade 2015 in Štrbské Pleso . At the Gunderson competition he finished 17th after jumping and in cross-country skiing he was able to improve to eighth place. In the mass start competition he took 15th place and started in the relay competition together with Nijas Nabejew and Ernest Jachin. The trio was able to win the bronze medal behind the relays from Germany and Japan.

Between January 29th and February 8th 2017 he took part in the Winter Universiade 2017 in Almaty . After taking eighth place in the Gunderson competition, he formed the Russian relay team with Timofei Borisow and Vyacheslav Barkov and after finishing third two years ago, they won the silver medal behind Poland. He took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti between February 22 and March 5, 2017 and was allowed to take part in all four competitions there. After he finished 43rd in the individual competition on the normal hill, he formed the Russian relay team with Vyacheslav Barkov, Ernest Jachin and Timofei Borissow, which finished 10th and penultimate place. In the individual competition he took 35th place and started together with Vyacheslav Barkov in the team sprint. There they finished the race by overtaking in 13th and penultimate place.
