Sammie Lee Hill (* 8. November 1986 in West Blocton , Alabama ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of the defensive tackles . He played for the Detroit Lions and the Tennessee Titans in the National Football League (NFL).

college

Hill played for Stillman College's Stillman Tigers from 2005 to 2008 . Hill was the first college player selected in the NFL Draft , but not the first player in the NFL. The Cornerback Brian Witherspoon of the Detroit Lions went into the 2008 NFL Draft but was then selected by any team, but signed in 2008 a contract as Undrafted free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars . Hill was selected 115th by the Lions in the fourth round.

NFL

Hill started 12 of 13 games for the Lions and had a good rookie season. Although the Lions Defense was the worst defense in the NFL last year, the Lions hoped to have one of the stronger defensive lines in the league with the newcomers.

Prior to the 2013 season , he signed a three-year $ 11.4 million deal with the Tennessee Titans . He ran as a starter in 2013 and 2014. He was banned for violating NFL drug guidelines for the first four games of the 2016 season , and was indefinitely banned for the same offense in November. The ban was lifted again in May 2018. Hill played his last game in the NFL on January 3, 2016.
