Samuel Edel

Samuel Edel (born June 2, 1593 in Türkheim , † December 1, 1652 in Ulm ) was a German Lutheran theologian.

Life

Born as the son of a country preacher, he attended high school in Ulm and then studied at the University of Wittenberg , the University of Tübingen and the University of Gießen .

After he had finished his theological studies, he worked as a pastor in the rural parishes of Langenau , Lonsee , and Urspring and came to the Trinity Church in Ulm as a pastor. Here he experienced the horrors of the Thirty Years War and wrote practical theological works.
