history

Origining is first mentioned in a document in 1108. The place belonging to the county of Helfenstein was pledged to the imperial city of Ulm in 1382 and sold in 1396. In 1108 a Luitgard, probably von Helfenstein, and a cleric Werner donated the local church with extensive property to the Blaubeuren monastery , which it also sold to Ulm in 1534. The imperial city acquired further property from the Häl in 1478, from the Elchingen monastery in 1568, from the Wengen monastery in 1573 and from the last Count of Helfenstein in 1618. In Ulmian times, Urspring belonged to the Lonsee office.

In 1803, Urspring came to Bavaria and in 1810 through the border treaty between Bavaria and Württemberg to the Kingdom of Württemberg .

Origining was incorporated into Lonsee on January 1st, 1975.
