Samuel Firmino de Jesus (born April 7, 1986 in São Paulo ), called Samuel , is a Brazilian football player who has his core position in central defense .
Career
Samuel started his career at Ituano FC , where he played regularly in the Brazilian second division. In 2007 he moved to Portuguesa and stayed there for a year. A change to Comercial FC Ribeirão Preto followed . He then played a season with União São João before signing with Paraná Clube for several months . At Joinville EC he found a place for the 2009/10 season.
Here he was able to recommend himself for the top club FC São Paulo , where he moved after his contract in Joinville expired. The central defender was under contract with São Paulo until December 31, 2010. He terminated the contract at the beginning of the transfer period. Samuel had been under contract with Werder Bremen since January 31, 2011 after completing a trial session there. He received the jersey number 25, but was not used in the second half of the Bundesliga.
On June 17th, 2011 the RSC Anderlecht announced the commitment of Samuel. Samuel signed a one-year contract until the end of June 2012 and will be transferring free of charge after his contract in Bremen has expired. However, he only made four appearances in the Jupiler Pro League in the first half of the 2011/12 season .
In January 2012 he was allowed to leave the club prematurely without a transfer and moved to the Portuguese first division club Sporting Braga , where he signed a one and a half year contract until the end of June 2013. However, it was not used there.
At the beginning of November 2012, Samuel moved back home prematurely and signed a contract with São Bernardo FC .
