Samuel Harfst (born April 1, 1986 in Hüttenberg ) is a German singer , producer and songwriter .

Harfst made his first musical experiences in the Wetzlar Chick Choir of the Christian children's songwriter Margret Birkenfeld .

With his band he initially performed as a street musician in Germany and Europe for years and produced and distributed his first four albums in-house. In 2009 Harfst was voted one of the 10 best German newcomer bands at the MTV unplugged young talent competition with his song Alles Gute zum Zeiten . The producer Ralf Mayer produced the (major) debut album by Samuel Harfst and band from November 2009. In November 2009, Harfst was with his band as opening act for the tour of Germany by Marit Larsen case. In May 2010, appearances in the opening act of Whitney Houston's tour of Germany followed .

At Popkomm 2010 , Harfst organized the “longest street concert in the world” and was thus included in the Guinness Book of Records .

In an interview with pro-medienmagazin , Harfst described himself as a Christian ; However, he does not understand music as a means to present his faith or to advertise it. In another interview, however, Harfst stated that his music was indeed shaped by his Christian faith. His album Day and Night Recordings (2008) consists of a number of Christian hymns such as Amazing Grace .

On February 5, 2011, Harfst won the David Award, the prize for the Christian pop music scene. In 2013 he went on tour with Samuel Koch . Harfst played songs from his album Step back during the performances and Koch read from his book Zwei Leben . A concert DVD was produced for this tour.

Label

Samuel and David Harfst also founded the music label RaketenRecords , through which they now produce their albums. RaketenRecords names EMI , Rough Trade and Gerth Medien as (sales) partners . The solo album by Dirk Menger is also produced by RaketenRecords.
