Samuel Slovák (born October 17, 1975 in Nitra ) is a former Slovak football player who now works as a coach.
Career
society
His home club was FC Nitra . He then played for ŠK Slovan Bratislava and CD Tenerife . At Slovan Liberec he had been sorted out after a protracted injury and had been without a contract for over half a year. The original plan was to offer him a probation contract with 1. FC Nürnberg until the end of the season, but his appearances at the training camp in Belek meant that he got a contract until 2005 instead. In addition to his playful skills, he had impressed those in charge at 1. FCN with his willingness to accept a highly performance-related salary. In his second year in Nuremberg, however, the big breakthrough was denied due to numerous injuries, even though coach Wolfgang Wolf awarded him the title of our best footballer . In total, he was used in 13 top division games in which he scored 3 goals, including the last two goals in a Bundesliga game in the Olympic Stadium in Munich . Shortly after the start of the 2005/06 season and only two short assignments, his contract was terminated. A few weeks later he joined his long-time club ŠK Slovan Bratislava, for which he played as team captain. He retired in September 2010 due to health problems, is about to complete his coaching education and is training juniors at Slovan.
In August 2012 he succeeded Vladimír Weiss as head coach of Slovans. He led the team to the championship in the 2012/13 season . After a bad start to the 2013/14 season, he was released at the end of July 2013 and replaced by Jozef Valovič . In summer 2014 he took over his former club Slovan Liberec, but had to leave at the end of the year when the club was on a relegation zone. Since July 2017 Slovák has been working as a junior national coach for the Slovak Association.
