San Joaquín is a municipality in the state of Carabobo in northern Venezuela .
San Joaquín has an area of 127 km² and 61,000 inhabitants (as of 2007). It borders the state of Aragua with the coastal mountains in the north, the Diego Ibarra district in the east, Lake Valencia in the south and the Guacara district in the west.
The capital is San Joaquín . The mayor is Luis Aguiar, who was elected on November 23, 2008 with 55% of the vote.
