San Jose ( Tagalog : Bayan ng San Jose) is a Filipino municipality in the province of Occidental Mindoro , in the administrative region IV-B, Mimaropa. It has 143,430 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who lived in 38 barangays . It is classified as a first income class community in the Philippines and as partially urbanized .
The topography of the municipality is characterized by mountainous terrain. Parts of Mount Iglit Baco National Park are in the municipality's territory. Its neighboring communities are Bulalacao ( Oriental Mindoro Province ) in the east, Rizal and Calintaan in the north, and Magsaysay in the south. Mindoro Street is to the west .
San Jose has an airport and a deep water port, and there are ferry connections to Manila and Batangas City . The airlines Zest Airways , Cebu Pacific and Airphil Express serve the airport, sometimes daily, from Manila Airport .
Since 2014 the airport has only been served three times a week by Cebu Pacific.
The Divine Word College of San Jose is located in San Jose.
