The Sand River ( French Rivière Sand ) is a tributary of Lake Superior in the Canadian province of Ontario .
The Sand River forms the drain of Sand Lake , located in Lake Superior Provincial Park . It flows through the provincial park in a southerly direction and flows into the Upper Lake after 56 km.

The Sand River is a popular white water body of water. A 4-5 day canoe tour leads from Sand Lake to the river mouth. Sand Lake is accessible from the Algoma Central Railway stop at mile 136.25. There are 29 labeled Portage -Make along the flow path.
