Memorial plaque on the road from Weesen to Betlis

On September 1, 1889, Raillard never returned from a hike from Weesen am Walensee to Amden . A day later he was found dead at the foot of a rock wall near the lake shore. The reason for the fall in easy terrain is suspected to be malaise or dizziness. A large plaque commemorates the Alpine pioneer near the crash site on the road from Weesen to Betlis .
