Sandra Šrut

Sandra Šrut (born January 26, 1999 ) is a Croatian athlete who practices both medium-distance and long-distance running . She is also active in the obstacle course and was once able to become Croatian champion over the 3000 meter obstacle.

Career

On February 24, 2018 Sandra Šrut started at the Croatian Indoor Championships in Zagreb in 3000 Meters . In her first participation she finished second behind Kristina Hendel with a time of 10: 56.87 minutes. After taking part in the indoor championships for the first time, she also took part in the Croatian open-air championships for the first time. It made its first appearance on April 22nd, 2018 at the outsourced championships in the 10,000 meter run and finished fourth in the race in Zadar .

Due to her good performance, she was allowed to take part in the 2018 U20 World Athletics Championships in the Ratina Stadium in the Finnish city of Tampere . There she started in the 3000 meter obstacle course and set a new record with 10: 19.80 minutes. During this time, she finished tenth in the semifinals. In the absence of last year's winner and Croatian record holder Kristina Hendel , Šrut won the 3,000 meter obstacle course on July 28, 2018 in 10: 59.07 minutes at the Croatian championships in Zagreb and secured her first Croatian championship title. A day later she took sixth place over the 3000 meters.
