Sandra Azón Canalda (born November 12, 1973 in Barcelona ) is a former Spanish sailor .

successes

Sandra Azón took part in the 470 dinghy twice with Natalia Vía Dufresne in the Olympic Games . They finished the 2000 Games in Sydney in sixth place. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens they won the silver medal after completing the regatta thanks to 62 points behind the Greek and ahead of the Swedish boat. With Vía Dufresne, she secured two bronze medals at world championships : 2000 at Balaton and 2001 in Koper . In 2003 they also became European champions together. In 2008 Azón started in the Olympic regatta in Beijing in the boat class Yngling , in which she did not get beyond 14th place. In Yngling, Azón was world champion in Brunnen in 2002 and La Rochelle in 2006 and European champion in Medemblik in 2006 .

Her older sister Mónica Azón was also an Olympic sailor, with whom she sailed in the Yngling.
