Sandra Weeser (* 8. September 1969 in Siegen as Sandra Reusch ) is a German-French politician ( FDP ), and since 2017 MPs in the German Bundestag .

Life and work

Sandra Weeser earned a degree in business administration in a dual training program. She ran a car dealership from 2004 and worked for a large American corporation from 2011 to 2016. Afterwards she was Vice President of the Structure and Approval Directorate North in Koblenz.

Weeser is married, a Protestant and has two children. Since December 16, 2019, she has both German and French citizenship.

Party and politics

Weeser has been a member of the FDP since 2006. Since 2013 she has been deputy state chairwoman of her party in Rhineland-Palatinate. Weeser has been a member of the Betzdorf Community Council (now Betzdorf-Gebhardshain ) since 2009 .

In the 2017 federal election , Weeser ran in the Neuwied constituency and was ranked second on the list of the FDP Rhineland-Palatinate and was elected member of the 19th German Bundestag on September 24, 2017. There she is a member and chairwoman of the Free Democratic Group in the Committee on Economic Affairs and Energy and rapporteur for foreign trade , energy policy and arms exports . Weeser is also a deputy member of the Foreign Affairs Committee .

Sandra Weeser has been the district chairwoman of the FDP Koblenz since 2018. In 2016 she took part in the coalition negotiations of the Ampelkoalition in Rhineland-Palatinate for the Free Democrats .

Weeser is also the deputy chairwoman of the Liberal Mittelstand in Rhineland-Palatinate and deputy chairwoman of the Southwest regional group of Liberal Women .

Sandra Weeser has been a member of the Franco-German Parliamentary Assembly since 2019 .
