Santi Giovanni Evangelista e Petronio
Santi Giovanni Evangelista e Petronio , also S. Giovanni Evangelista e Petronio dei Bolognesi , (Latin: Sanctorum Ioannis Evangelistae et Petronii ) is a titular church in Rome .

The church was founded by Pope Urban III. Consecrated in 1186 and attached to the Church of San Lorenzo in Damaso and was known under the name Sanctae Thomae de Yspanis and later San Tommaso dei Muratori , also della Catena or dei Frati .
In 1581 the church was also taken over by Pope Gregory XIII. dedicated to Saint Petronius , patron saint of the citizens of Bologna in Rome. Pope Gregory XIII had the church building renovated and rebuilt in 1582 by master builder Ottaviano Nonni . The facade itself was only designed in its present form in the 17th century.
On May 25, 1985 the elevation to the title church of the Roman Catholic Church took place by Pope John Paul II. Patron saint is the Evangelist John and since 1581 Petronius of Bologna .
The church is located at Via del Mascherone 61 in the Roman district of Regola on the left bank of the Tiber between Ponte Garibaldi and Ponte Mazzini; to the south is the Palazzo Farnese .
