Santiago Martínez , full name Santiago Martínez Pintos , (born July 30, 1991 in Salto ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.70 meter tall midfielder Martínez has been in the squad of the Uruguayan first division club Montevideo Wanderers since Clausura 2011 . In that half series he played six games in the Primera División . He did not score a hit. In the following seasons 2011/12 and 2012/13 he came to 26 (no goal) and 24 (two goals) appearances. By the end of the 2013/14 season, he played 31 other first division games (no goal). He also played two games in the 2013 Copa Sudamericana . His team won the Clausura 2014 and became Uruguayan runner-up. He then moved to Argentina on loan, where he joined Quilmes AC . There he was used in six first division games (no goal) and one game (no goal) of the Copa Argentina . He returned to the Montevideo Wanderers in early February 2015. With the Montevideans he played in ten first division games (no goal) and eight games (no goal) of the 2015 Copa Libertadores in the remainder of the 2014/15 season . During the 2015/16 season, he was used in 18 top division games (no goal). During the season he was used 15 times (one goal) in the league and six times (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2016 . In the 2017 season he made 22 first division appearances (no goal) and four (no goal) in the 2017 Copa Libertadores . In July 2017 he was loaned to the Argentine club CA Belgrano .

National team

Martínez was a member of the Uruguayan U-20 team and took part in the 2011 U-20 World Cup. In the run-up to the 2012 Summer Olympics, he was also part of the U-23 squad set up by national coach Óscar Tabárez .
