Santissimo Nome di Maria in Via Latina is a parish and titular church in the Roman district of Appio-Latino on Via Centuripe. The church is dedicated to the Most Holy Name of Mary.

history

The parish was founded in 1956 as the curate of the parish of San Giovanni Battista de Rossi . The Marianists took over the pastoral care . The associated parish was founded on April 1, 1963 by a decree by Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara .

The church was built in 1980 based on a design by Aldo Ortolani. The consecration took place on April 4, 1981.

On May 25, 1985, Pope John Paul II elevated the church to the title church.

description

The church is made entirely of reinforced concrete . Inside is a large church room. At the corners are two side chapels with abstract stained glass windows, the entrance and the chancel. In the church there are two statues of Saint Anthony and Our Lady on the pillar , which are used for devotion. The organ above the entrance portal is from 1979.

The church's campanile consists of two L-shaped concrete slabs. A metal cross is mounted at the very top.
