The Santnerpasshütte (Italian: Rifugio Passo Santner ) is a refuge in the Schlern-Rosengarten nature park in the Dolomites .
Location and surroundings
The hut is located at 2734 m above sea level on the Santner Pass in the Rosengarten group , which borders the Schuttkar called "Gartl" at its southwestern end. It is located in the municipality of Tiers in South Tyrol , Italy .
The Santnerpasshütte is a starting point for climbing tours in the surrounding mountains, for example on the Laurinswand a little to the north or the Rosengartenspitze, which rises to the southeast . The easiest way to get there is from the Fassa Valley in Trentino : From there you can take a very easy path via the Vajolet Hut to the Gartl Hut directly below the Vajolet Towers and then, crossing the “Gartl”, to the Santner Pass. The approach from the Kölner Hütte to the south on the western slope of the Rosengarten group over the secured Santnerpass via ferrata is somewhat more demanding .
history
The hut was built in 1956 by the mountain guide Giulio Gabrielli from Predazzo and has been managed during the summer months (except for a few years).
The Santnerpasshütte will be open again from summer 2019 and will be under new management.
