Sara Fantini (born September 16, 1997 in Fidenza ) is an Italian hammer thrower .
Athletic career
Sara Fantini gained her first international experience in 2015 when she was eliminated from the qualification at the Junior European Championships in Eskilstuna with 56.14 m. In the following year she finished seventh at the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Tunis with a width of 57.24 m, as well as at the subsequent U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz with 59.56 m. In 2017 she reached eleventh place at the U23 European Championships there with 63.38 m and then she was twelfth in the final at the Summer Universiade in Naples with 60.82 m. The following year she won the bronze medal behind the French women Audrey Ciofani and Camille Saint-Luce at the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Jesolo with a throw of 61.38 m . In 2019 she won the bronze medal at the U23 European Championships in Gävle with 68.35 m behind the Russian Sofja Palkina and Nastassja Maslawa from Belarus. She also qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where she did not reach the final with 66.58 m .
From 2017 to 2019 Fantini was the Italian hammer throw champion.
