Sarah Elizabeth Barrable-Tishauer (* 6. July 1988 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian actress who mainly for her role as Liberty Van Zandt , who until 2010 in the television series from 2001 Degrassi: The Next Generation , became famous for held .

life and career

Born in Canada's largest city, Barrable-Tishauer began her acting career at the age of years, where she was initially only used in theater productions. While the musical The Lion King was currently on Broadway , the young actress played the role of young Nala in the Toronto version of the musical . The eleven-year-old got into acting through her grandmother, who saw an advertisement for the musical in a newspaper. Through her role she gained national fame and was cast around 2001 for a leading role in the Canadian television series Degrassi: The Next Generation . In the end, she was accepted into the official cast of the youth series and took on the role of the highly ambitious student Liberty Van Zandt . In the series she was seen in one of the leading roles until the eighth season and was then, after moving to the fictional Smithdale University , in the ninth season only to be seen in a guest role. Parallel to her initial career with Degrassi , the enthusiastic trombonist , dancer and pianist was seen in the 2002 television film The Red Sneakers in the supporting role of Larosa . Over the years, she fell in love with fellow actor Ryan Cooley , whom she had met years earlier on the set of Degrassi: The Next Generation ; the two formed a couple from around 2004 to 2008. From around mid-2009 to around the end of 2010 she was in a relationship with Mazin Elsadig , whom she also met on the Degrassi set. The young Canadian actress also took on her role as Liberty Van Zandt in various film adaptations of the series, including 2008 in Degrassi Spring Break Movie , a combination of two Degrassi episodes, and in 2010 in the adaptations The Rest of My Life and Degrassi Takes Manhattan . Over the years Sarah Barrable-Tishauer has been nominated several times for a Young Artist Award and was even able to win one of the coveted trophies when she was first nominated in 2002. In addition to her acting career, Barrable-Tishauer enrolled at Concordia University in Montréal , where her main course is intermediality and journalism . In various other interviews, Barrable-Tishauer also mentions the communication and computation arts courses , which she would like to use after her studies to enter the design and advertising business. At university events, including discussion rounds, the actress often appears as a moderator. Together with 23 fellow students, Barrable-Tishauer was also involved in the shooting of the short film 2 Years 2 Many , which was released in 2009. From 2011, the former Degrassi star can be seen in the sci-fi series Process by filmmaker Jason Gondziola , who graduated from university in 2009. In the series, initially limited to 13 episodes, which includes Barrable-Tishauer as well as other Concordia fellow students, she takes on one of the leading roles alongside the more experienced actors Tim Burd and Vanessa Matsui .
