Sasha (* 1974 as Karen Chin in Kingston ) is a Jamaican reggaeton and dancehall singer.

Career

Sasha was born in Jamaica, but lived in the United States since she was five , first in New York City and later in Florida . As a teenager she was discovered by Shabba Ranks ' management when she was brought on stage by him during a performance.

Their first release was the song Kill the Bitch , which appeared on the B-side of a Buju Banton single in 1992 . Her breakthrough came with Dat Sexy Body (1998, originally on the Bookshelf Riddim ). The song was later re-recorded with Puerto Rican reggaeton star Ivy Queen . In 2003 she worked on Sean Paul's single I'm Still in Love , which won silver in the UK . In addition, she worked with Turbulence , with whom she was also in a relationship, and Elephant Man .

In 2008 Sasha, who grew up in a Christian family, became a devout Christian. Since then she has been singing gospel under the name Sista Sasha . Her first single, Chosen , was released in 2012, followed by the songs Let This Cup Pass (2012), Get Through It and I'm Anointed (2013). She released her first gospel album in early 2014 under the title Breaking Free . It was produced by her own company Sister Sasha Ministries and contained 13 tracks, some of which were autobiographical (including Jesus A Di Don ).
