Saskia Weisheitel (born June 17, 1989 in Schwerin ) is a German handball player . She has played as a circular runner since the 2020/21 season with the French first division club Jeanne d'Arc Dijon handball .

Career

Weisheitel started at SV Warnemünde when she was six, and later learned handball at HC Empor Rostock (now Rostocker HC ).

After graduating from high school, she began a dual course of study and played alternately for two years for three months at TSG Wismar (2nd Bundesliga North) and SV Allensbach (2nd Bundesliga South).

Then Weisheitel moved to Füchsen Berlin, also 2nd Bundesliga, for two years. She rose to the 1st Bundesliga with the Füchsen at the end of the 2013/14 season, but moved to BVB Dortmund.

Here followed six successful years: 2015 promotion to the 1st Bundesliga, 2015/16 cup final, 2016/17 6th place, 2017/18 4th place, 2018/19 7th place. In the 2019/20 season, BVB was abandoned because of the Corona crisis on March 18, 2020 in first place, but did not receive the title of German champion.

Weisheitel moved to JDA Dijon in France for the 2020/21 season. There she signed a two-year contract.
