Sassenroth is a district of Herdorf in the Altenkirchen district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
history
The first documentary mention comes from the year 1261, in which the gentleman Gerhard von Sassenroth is allowed to speak his own right about his followers. A stone house, which could have been a castle-like structure, is also mentioned.
Since 1886 the place belonged to the mayor's office Betzdorf .
In 1955, Sassenroth was incorporated into the newly formed municipality of Herdorf .
