The Saubach Bridge is a 55 m long, three-span railway bridge on the new Ebensfeld – Erfurt line near Goldisthal . The Goldberg tunnel follows to the north and the Blessberg tunnel to the south .

As part of the German Unity Transport Project No. 8, together with the northern section of the Bleßberg tunnel and the Goldberg tunnel as well as the Grubentalbrücke, it is part of the 5.36 km long Bleßberg northern section (construction lot 3) from km 46.3 + 00 to 51 , 6 + 60 in section 3212 Thuringian Forest . The contract was awarded in June 2008 with an award amount of € 138.8 million net. The structure, which can be driven on at 300 km / h, was opened in 2017.
