The Saurer 3DUK-50 is a type IV-U bus from Adolph Saurer AG , Arbon . He was in a Series set of 74 forward-control - Post cars manufactured from 1968 to 1973. They ran under the matriculations P-24600 to P-24673.

The 3DUK-50 is the first standard left-hand drive type PostBus (except for coaches ) from the former PTT operations in Switzerland . At that time, this vehicle cost 140,000 francs and was therefore significantly cheaper than its predecessor, the last Alpine car IV-U from FBW, which had cost 170,000 francs.

In addition to operations in normal course operations, these vehicles were also used on routes with travel vehicle requirements (e.g. express route Chur-Bellinzona).

The term 3DUK-50 stands for: 3 for 2, 3 meters wide (so called Alpine width), D iesel U nterflur K ompressor with 5.0 meters wheelbase .
