Sawa Suicide (* 26. July 1978 in Los Angeles , California as Sarah June Remetch ) is an American film director , film producer , model and singer .

Life and professional development

Remetch grew up in Los Angeles and attended West High School in Torrance . In 2000 she devoted herself to photography and founded her own studio in Sun Valley , California under the pseudonym "Dass Sawa" . The founders of the Alt-Porn website SuicideGirls became aware of her through her work and hired her as a photographer. At the same time she also became the singer of the sludge / grindcore band Watch Me Burn , with whom she recorded two albums and released two demos in the five-year-old band . She quickly made a name for herself in the scene and is considered a pioneer of female guttural singing in the USA . For a long time she was the only woman in the grindcore genre.

She made a name for herself in LA through her appearance with Watch me Burn and got a cameo on the CSI: NY episode Oedipus Hex in 2006 . A year later the band Watch Me Burn broke up and they devoted themselves entirely to photography. She works as an assistant camerawoman for the films London - Love of Life , The Wizard of Gore and I'm Still Here . In addition, Remetch was material assistant for the films Hard Candy and Zodiac - Die Spur des Killers . In 2010 she gave the horror film Suicide Girls Must Die! ultimately made her directorial debut and took on the lead role of Sawa . In 2014 she returned to film and worked as an assistant camerawoman for the German-American documentary Everything That Rises Must Converge . In 2015 Remetch worked as an assistant camerawoman on Rob Zombie 's horror thriller Film 31 .
