The Schönfelder See ( Lower Sorbian Tłukomski jazor ) is a 140 hectare recultivated open pit lake in the town of Schönfeld of the same name .

location

It is located in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district in Brandenburg between Lübbenau and Calau . The Dobra stream along the A 13 motorway forms the western border. To the east is the Lübbenau – Kamenz railway at the level of Bischdorf .

history

The lake emerged from a residual hole in the Seese-West open-cast lignite mine and was flooded from 1997 to 2008. Today it is used as a fishing and swimming lake.
