The Schüppchenschnitzlinge ( Phaeomarasmius ) are a genus of fungi from the family of crack fungus relatives (Inocybaceae).
features
Macroscopic features
The phaeomarasmius are small, less than 20 mm wide, articulated in hat and stalk leaves mushrooms . The hat is arched to spread out, the surface of the hat is colored yellow to rust brown, dry and covered with granular to flaky or fibrous, bristly to bulky scales. The lamellas are attached to the stem or have grown out to be sanded. The stem is thin, with young specimens remains of the velum are often present in the form of a ring or as a fibrous veil (Cortina). The fruit bodies have the ability to revive after being dehydrated through the supply of moisture. The spore powder is rusty to ocher brown in color.
Microscopic features
The relatively large, elliptical spores are thin-walled, smooth and rust-brown in color. They have no or only an indicated germ pore .

The Schüppchenschnitzlinge are saprobiontic inhabitants of wood and plant residues.

The genus includes around 20 species worldwide, 3 of which are found in Europe.
