German Chess League 2016/17 (Switzerland)
The German Chess League 2016/17 is the top division of the Swiss Group Championship (SGM) in chess. The champions were SC Lyss-Seeland , while the defending champion SC Gonzen had to be content with second place. Echiquier Bruntrutain Porrentruy was promoted from the 2nd Bundesliga last year . Dates and venues
The competitions took place on October 29, November 19, December 3, 2016, January 21, February 4 and 25, and March 11, 2017. The last round was organized centrally in Riehen , the others took place decentrally with those involved Unite instead.

Promotion game to the 1st Bundesliga
For the promotion game taking place on April 29, 2017, the winners of the two second division seasons qualified with SC Kirchberg and SC Bodan . The competition ended 4: 4, so that the Berlin ranking decided in favor of Kirchberg.
