Peter Kühn (born January 2, 1976 in Jena ) is a German chess player .

Life

Peter Kühn holds a doctorate in law and is a research assistant at the chair for civil law at the University of Konstanz .

He has held the title of International Champion since June 2007 and fulfilled the required standards in the 1999/2000 season of the Oberliga Baden, in the Swiss National League A in 2006 , in the German 2nd Bundesliga South in 2006/07 and at the European Club Cup 2006 in Fügen . His Elo rating is 2343 (as of January 2020); his highest rating to date was 2446 from July to December 2008.

As a teenager he lived in Hamburg , he became Hamburg youth champion in 1993 and 1994. At the 5th Open Norwegian Youth Championship in Oslo in 1995 he was fourth. In 1996 he won the German U20 youth club championship with Hamburger SK in Berlin . He was registered as a reserve player in the 1st Bundesliga in the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons with Hamburger SK , but was only used in the second team in the 2nd Bundesliga North. From the 2006/07 season to the 2008/09 season he played for the Karlsruhe Chess Friends , first in the 2nd Bundesliga South, later in the Oberliga Baden. Before that he played at SVG Konstanz until the 2004/05 season . In the 2018/19 season, Kühn plays with the third team of OSG Baden-Baden in the Baden Oberliga. In the Swiss national league A he played from 2002 to 2012 for the chess friends Reichenstein , with whom he became Swiss team champion in 2006 , and since 2016 he has played for SC Bodan . In the Swiss 1st Bundesliga he was a member of the Niederrohrdorf team from 2002 to 2009 , with whom he became Swiss group champion in 2002 . From 2011 to 2015 he played for SC Lyss-Seeland , then for SC Bodan . In 2005 he took part in the European Club Cup, the European Cup for club teams, for the Swiss team Schachclub Niederrohrdorf , in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2013 for Schachfreunde Reichenstein .
