Shah Mehmood Qureshi

Shah Mehmood Qureshi ( Urdu شاه محمود قریشی; Born June 22, 1956 in Murree ) is a Pakistani politician. Qureshi has been Pakistan's Foreign Minister since August 20, 2018 .

Life

He was a member of the Pakistani People's Party (PPP) and as such was Foreign Minister in the cabinet of Yousaf Raza Gilani from March 31, 2008 to February 9, 2011 . Due to conflicts with the party leadership, he resigned from office in February 2011. In November 2011 he joined Imran Khan 's emerging Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (Pakistan Movement for Justice) party and is its vice-chairman. Qureshi's father was governor of the Punjab region in the 1980s.

He received his bachelor's degree in history from Forman Christian College in Lahore . After that, he also included a study of law at Corpus Christi College of the University of Cambridge from. He is married and has a son and two daughters.

Qureshi is the President of the Pakistan Agriculture Association.
