Electromobility showcase
Electromobility showcase is the name of a program decided by the German federal government to promote electromobility in Germany . As a central measure of the government program adopted in 2011, the promoted initiatives are intended to act like a “ showcase ” visible to the public in order to demonstrate competencies in the fields of electric vehicles , energy supply and the transport system in Germany. Corresponding demonstration and pilot projects in selected and size-oriented regions are intended to bundle electromobile knowledge and activities across systems and make them visible. The public sector should work closely with industry and science in order to test innovative elements of electric mobility.
The showcase regions
In accordance with the recommendations of an independent expert jury, the German Federal Government selected the following electric mobility showcase in April 2012 :
- LivingLab BWe mobil in Baden-Württemberg ;
- International Showcase Electromobility Berlin-Brandenburg in Berlin-Brandenburg ;
- Our horsepower is going electric , Lower Saxony ;
- ELECTROMOBILITY CONNECTS , across borders in Bavaria and Saxony .
Projects, ministries and funds
In the four selected “showcase regions”, the German government will support a total of 90 joint projects with 334 sub-projects until 2016. Further projects are funded by the responsible state governments and other partners. The investment volume estimated so far for the various electric mobility showcases is around 300 million euros. Around 180 million euros of this are provided by the interdepartmental leading Federal Ministry for Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) as well as the ministries Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Building and reactor safety (BMUB).
Accompanying research
Overarching issues of all shop windows or joint projects are examined by specially commissioned accompanying research. These topics include vehicle battery development, the expansion of the charging infrastructure and the legal framework. In addition, it is the task of the accompanying research to bundle the results of all showcases and make them available to a broad public.
Promoter
On behalf of the four ministries the Projekträgerschaft is on the program showcase electric mobility conducted by the VDI / VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH (which was founded in 1978, with the shareholders Association of German Engineers (VDI) and the German Association for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies ) in cooperation with TÜV Rheinland Consulting GmbH . The tasks assumed by the sponsors include, in particular, technical and administrative support for the participants in the projects and representing the funding departments vis-à-vis the beneficiaries. Another task is to ensure communication between the actors involved.
