Norbert Scheed (* 17th August 1962 in Neunkirchen , † 16th July 2014 in Norway ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and district director in the 22nd Viennese district Donaustadt .

Professional career

Between 1978 and 1981, Norbert Scheed completed an apprenticeship as an office clerk at Universale Bau AG, where he was active as a youth counselor in the union and on the national board of the GPA youth. Between 1982 and 1983 Scheed attended the Social Academy of the Federal Chamber of Labor and from 1983 worked as a GPA secretary for the Austrian building trade and the construction industry and the industrial sector of Wien Holding . After that, Scheed worked as the GPA's Viennese state secretary between 1989 and 2000.

Between 1990 and 2002, Scheed was also chairman of the Vienna Regional Health Insurance Fund and Deputy Chairman of the Control Assembly of the Vienna Regional Health Insurance Fund, and in 1995 he founded the Vienna Employee Promotion Fund (WAFF). Between 1995 and 2006 he was vice-president and chairman of the board of the WAFF and between 2001 and 2006 he was regional manager of the GPA-Vienna.

Political career

Norbert Scheed initially got involved in the 15th district of Vienna, where he was chairman of the young generation SPÖ Fünfhaus from 1984 to 1988 and district councilor in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus between 1986 and 1989 . From 1990 to 2006 Scheed was a board member of the Vienna Chamber of Labor and was involved in the union. Between 1991 and 2006 Scheed worked as deputy chairman in the parliamentary group of social democratic trade unionists (FSG).

In 2001 Scheed was elected to the Vienna state parliament and local council. After his election as deputy party chairman of the SPÖ Donaustadt in March 2006, Scheed Renate Winklbauer followed as district chairman of the Donaustadt district. He resigned his local council mandate and was elected district chairman on June 22, 2006.

On July 16, 2014, he died of a heart attack while on vacation in Norway.

The Norbert Scheed Forest project in the north of Vienna is named after him. In 2018 the Scheedgasse in the Danube city ​​was named after him.
