The Schleicherbach is an approximately 5 km long tributary of the Brixentaler Ache . It is located in Tyrol , Austria and flows through the Kitzbühel district . The name Schleicherbach probably comes from the slow creeping movement of the river. It makes a significant contribution to the water volume of the Brixentaler Ache in the upper course of the Brixental .
The course of the river
The Schleicherbach rises below the Rauhen Kopf at around 1300 m above sea level. It first flows through the municipality of Kirchberg and then flows westwards towards Brixen. From 5 km, it then joins the Brixentaler Ache in the Lauterbach and Winkl-Feuring districts .
Along its course, the Schleicherbach is also fed by several source rivers. In addition to the Bockernbach , the Winschbach and Grabnerbach also flow into the Schleicherbach and determine the amount of water considerably.
Flood
The Schleicherbach is usually a tame brook . During torrential rains, however, it often happens that it overflows its banks in certain places. The districts of Lauterbach and Winkl-Feuring in particular can be affected. In the last few years, however, there have rarely been major floods.
