Schleswig-Holstein Football Association 1906
The Schleswig-Holstein Football Association (SHFV) was a football association in the northern part of what is now the state of Schleswig-Holstein (then a Prussian province) and should not be confused with the current state association of that name.
The SHFV was founded on November 11, 1906 in Schleswig by the following clubs: SC Angling Süderbrarup, FC Cimbria Itzehoe, Heider FC 1905 , 1. Schleswiger FV 1906 , FC Unitas 1906 Husum and SC Nordmark Hadersleben. With the exception of the Itzehoer there were no member clubs south of the Kaiser Wilhelm Canal ; the clubs from Kiel and a few others from the Holstein region played in the North German Football Association (NFV), which was founded in 1905 .
The six SHFV clubs were divided into a west and an east class for reasons of space. In the west the teams from Husum , Heide and Itzehoe played and in the east those from Schleswig , Süderbrarup and Hadersleben .
On the IV. Ordinary Association Day of the NFV on March 30 and 31, 1907 , the Schleswig-Holstein Football Association was included in the regional association and redefined as its District I (Schleswig) . Hadersleben dropped out; Clubs from North Schleswig no longer belonged to the NFV, but were organized in the Nordslesvig Fælles-Idrætsforening .
