history

In the 14th century there was already a medieval castle of the von Kracht family on the site of the current building . The castle complex changed hands several times until it came into the possession of the Stilcke family in 1790. The classicist castle was built between 1807 and 1810 on behalf of the War and Domain Councilor Hermann Ludwig von Stilcke in place of the previous building that burned down in 1807. In 1835, after the death of her father, the castle came into the possession of the family of her husband, the Prussian Major General Carl Heinrich von Ostau , through daughter Adelgunde , as the only son of the family had died at the age of 31. The von Ostau family were expropriated during the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone in 1945. From 1948 to 1999 the castle belonged to the Dretzel community, which housed a kindergarten, school, youth club and dormitory there until the fall of the Berlin Wall . The lands belonging to the castle were divided among the new farmers. The building stood empty from 1990 to 1999 and was acquired by Hans-Fabian von Ostau in 1999. Today the building houses apartments and a wedding room, as well as rooms for celebrations.

description

The castle and with the church, churchyard and park, with its castle pond on the island, form a design unit. The building has been preserved in its original shape to this day, only the formerly covered western entrance was replaced in 1954 by a terrace with two staircases. The seventeen-axis, two-storey plastered building rests on a man-high base and has a hipped mansard roof . The facade is loosened up by slightly emphasized central and side projections , which are in turn adorned with fluted Ionic pilasters . The majority of the windows have a rectangular format, some windows on the ground floor are provided with a round-arched attachment.

The complex includes the baroque farm buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries to the east of the manor house . An old stock of trees has been preserved in the park.
