The building is a neo-baroque plastered building with a mansard roof . It was built until 1912 according to plans by Paul Korff . The brick outer walls were not plastered until 1927/29; reinforced concrete was used inside. Due to the rising terrain, the main facade has two and the rear three floors. Both facades have central projections , whereby this is designed as an arbor at the entrance with an underpass. The original room layout has been preserved, parts of the original furnishings can still be seen today. On the main floor there is a large hall characteristic of Korff.

park

The complex around the manor house was designed in the neo-baroque style according to plans by R. Habich. On the south side of the site facing Dorfstraße there is a fence with relief figures and two gates as well as avenues as access to the building. At the back (south side) of the main house there is a lawn ground floor with a fountain. On the east and west side, the terraces planted with hedges and other plants are bordered by balustrades . On the north side, a flight of stairs that extends far into the park leads to the main entrance.

Outbuildings

The three outbuildings include a guest house built in 1993 with 32 rooms and a bowling alley. The Remise is another building, which is partly used as a training building and partly houses apartments for caretakers and trainees. The third building, the Marstall, is mainly used as a restaurant for seminars and celebrations of all kinds. Furthermore, there are four apartments and offices in the Marstall.

History and current use

The manor house was built between 1908 and 1912 for the German-Russian diplomat Wladimir Schmitz and was acquired in 1927 by the Girardet family, who ran a printing company in Essen . When the house was acquired by Ernst Heinkel Flugzeugwerke in 1942 , the Girardet family retained their right of residence. In view of the advancing Russian army, the family fled in April 1945. Subsequently, in May 1945, the manor house served as the headquarters of the Soviet military staff and refugee camp. After the renovation in 1948, the state administration school was housed here, in 1952 the technical school for political science and from 1970 to January 1990 the academy for socialist economic management.

After the fall of the Berlin Wall , the former mansion became a training center and model facility for the Federal Employment Agency . Since the beginning of 1991 the Association of Business Associations for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e. V. a training center. From September 1993 to 1996 the main building was extensively reconstructed and rebuilt. The owner, the Verband der Metall- und Elektro-Industrie e. V. ( Nordmetall ), had a guest house built during this time. Since April 1996, the facility has presented itself as a castle hotel.

Various events for young people in the MINT area take place every year at Schloss Hasenwinkel , which are intended to provide orientation in the mathematical, technical and IT professional world, such as B. the Nordmetall inventors camp .
