Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra Vienna

The Schönbrunn Orchester Vienna is an orchestra founded in 1997 with over 100 musicians, all of whom studied in Vienna and mostly live in Vienna. The orchestra, based in the Schönbrunn Orangery, has dedicated itself to cultivating the Viennese Classic ( Joseph Haydn , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Ludwig van Beethoven ), the Viennese Romanticism ( Franz Schubert ) and the music of the Strauss family.

Concerts in Vienna

The orchestra performs at Schönbrunn Palace from April 1st to October 31st and from December 25th to January 1st of each year. There are also concerts in the Wiener Musikverein and in the Schönbrunn Palace Theater.

Concert tours abroad

In winter the orchestra travels all over the world with various programs - from Scandinavia (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland) to Russia, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece to Spain and Italy. Japan was visited for the first time in 2008 and the USA in 2010.

At the end of 2011, the orchestra performed in Athens ( Megaron ) together with the Association of the Vienna State Opera Ballet under Gregor Hatala and then in the Kremlin in Moscow in front of 4,500 visitors, where it performed a program of works by Johann Strauss , accompanied by Mara Mastalir (Vienna Volksoper) and Thomas Weinhappl.
