The Schlossberg tunnel , also known as the Schlossberg tunnel , near Wertheim is a now unused railway tunnel on the Lohr – Wertheim line . The length of the tunnel is 626 meters.

The railway tunnel leads through the so-called Schlossberg, on which Wertheim Castle is located.

From the former Kreuzwertheim train station, the route led over the Wertheim Main Bridge ( Lage ) to the north portal ( Lage ) and after the southwest portal ( Lage ) via the disused Tauber Bridge Wertheim ( Lage ) to Wertheim Train Station . Both portals are located in the Wertheim district.

history

On May 26, 1979 the Lohrer Bahn was shut down and subsequently dismantled . The tunnel portals were then bricked up.
