The Catholic castle chapel in Châteaugiron , a French commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in the Brittany region , was built in the 12th century. The Romanesque chapel has been classified as a Monument historique since 1931 . The castle, which is now used as the town hall , is also a protected architectural monument .

The former chapel , which was renovated in recent years, consists of slate - quarry stone and is equipped with high buttresses supported from large ashlar. There are arched windows of different sizes in the nave and in the choir . Only the north wall of the nave and the west facade were renewed in the 18th century.

The building is used for cultural events.
