Schmaleggerjoch

The Schmaleggerjoch ( 1633  m ) is a summit in the Tyrolean part of the Mangfall Mountains in the Bavarian Prealps .

topography

The mountain with a summit cross is the westernmost summit of the ridge, which slopes rather steeply to the north, which extends south of the Ackernalm parallel to the Hinteren Sonnwendjoch over a length of almost 10 km, and whose main summit is the Veitsberg . The highest elevation of this ridge, however, is the Frechjoch ( 1789  m ). To the south, the ridge is bounded by the Weisgriessgraben, which drains to the Brandenberger Ache and thus to the Inn .

Alpinism

The broad meadow summit can be climbed from the Kaiserhaus through the Kaiserklamm and over the Untere Schmaleggeralm on an unmarked path in around two and a half hours. The path via the Wernbachalm, the Niederalm and the Diebsloch hunting lodge was described as dilapidated. From the Erzherzog-Johann-Klause, the ascent takes two and a half hours over the Rumpfalm. The transition from Thalerjoch or the ascent from the Ackernalm via the Fuchslochalm are also possible.
