Schmede is a district of the municipality of Hatten in the Lower Saxony district of Oldenburg in the Wildeshauser Geest Nature Park .

The village is about two kilometers northeast of Kirchhatten. There are three full-time agricultural businesses and a few part-time businesses, a veterinary practice and a few individual houses. The place can be reached via the bus routes 275/270 Schmede stop.

history

Until 1758 Schmede still belonged to the community of Ganderkesee . The Frei Tempo riding club has been located on Schmeder Weg since 1994, with a riding facility and an attached restaurant. On December 31, 2015, the place had 49 inhabitants.
